Whether you need support with accommodation, finance, learning support or want to talk to a counsellor or Careers Advisor, we have a team of professionals who can help.
During your first few days in College you will receive a copy of the College Handbook that details exactly what support is available. Please do not hesitate to make use of any of these services - they are for your benefit.
You will also have a Personal Tutor who is normally one of the course lecturers. If problems arise you should contact your Personal Tutor or the International Officer.
All students are members of the College Student Association. You will need two passport photographs to join the National Union of Students (NUS) which you can do during Induction week or by contacting the Student Liaison Officer.
New officers to the Student Council are elected every year. Contact the Student Liaison Officer for more information about how you can get involved.
At first you may be unsure of what is expected of you and what you need to do to fulfil the course requirements. Your tutor will give you a Programme Handbook that explains how you will be assessed and give you guidelines on what you need to do in order to achieve your qualification. You will also be supported in developing the study skills you need to help you succeed. Lecturers will always be friendly and supportive.
The Library and Learning Resource areas are popular with international students as they can access computers to help them with their research and presentation of assignments as well as using them to email home and keep in contact with friends and family. Staff in the Library and Learning Resource areas are happy to help you in the use of any resources (both printed and IT) that may be unfamiliar to you.
